Emergency Department Specialists Ali Ram, Lillian Okoronkwo, Nariya Parks, Emilio Oseguera, Ron Davalos, and Emergency Department Supervisor Darlene Asp
received a compliment from a member who was recently cared for in Roseville, CA. The patient said, "I would like to deeply thank the security team - they made me feel safe and loved during my 11-hour visit and greatly contributed to me not going to a psych ward." This is an excellent testimony to the profound impact our Security Officers' can have on the care experience and people’s lives. Helping patients feel safe and cared for when they are struggling and vulnerable is imperative to a positive visit and outcome.
Thank you, Emergency Department Specialists Ali Ram, Lillian Okoronkwo, Nariya Parks, Emilio Oseguera, Ron Davalos, and Emergency Department Supervisor Darlene Asp. You are true Frontline Heroes!
Security Supervisor Anthony Tompkins, from Manteca, was recognized for exceeding expectations to support a member in need. The Supervisor’s Manager shared that
Supervisor Tompkins received a phone call from an elderly member with mobility issues who cannot drive. The member expressed frustration and was crying because they did not know the shuttle bus schedule that the client provides between locations.
The member shared that they did not have access to a computer and did not have an email to look up or receive information digitally. Therefore, the member provided Supervisor Tompkins their home address and asked him to mail the shuttle information. Supervisor Tompkins knew it would take a few days for the member to receive the information, so he looked up the member’s home address and chose to deliver the flyer personally.
Security Supervisor Tompkins’ Manager stated, “We are so lucky and grateful to have him as a part of our team!”
Security Supervisor Tompkins, thank you for going above and beyond to help a member. Your service and commitment are greatly appreciated!
Security Officer Timothy Duffield, from Santa Rosa, received recognition from the Department of Neurology Chief and a patient. The patient shared that they were
most appreciative of Officer Duffield. He was the first person they encountered in the Emergency Department, and immediately noticed that the patient had stroke symptoms. Officer Duffield quickly flagged the patient and triggered the rapid stroke alert process. Both the patient and their family were impressed by Officer Duffield’s immediate response, which potentially saved the patient's life.
The Neurology Chief shared, “providing excellent security services is a demanding job. In addition, having the clinical knowledge to recognize stroke symptoms says a lot about our dedicated security staff.”
Officer Duffield, thank you for your dedication to keeping visitors, members, and staff safe. Your knowledge and actions save lives!
Emergency Department Supervisor (EDS) Reginald Cooper, from San Francisco, has been recognized several times by the client and the Allied Universal management
team as hard worker with a pleasant demeanor. EDS Cooper is well-known for being helpful and greeting everyone who enters the medical office building with a smile and calming presence. He is vigilant and always prepared to respond using proper de-escalation techniques in a respectable and empathetic manner.
EDS Cooper recently prevented an attempted theft of several over-the-counter pharmacy items. When he observed the shoplifter putting items in their backpack, EDS Cooper calmly asked the suspect to return the items and place them back on the display rack. He then escorted the suspect out of the building.
EDS Cooper, thank you for your dedication to keeping visitors, members, and the client’s property safe!
